Our Changing City is an interactive digital installation helping people to gain a better understanding of the impacts of climate change in Pōneke | Wellington. It provides examples of the many ways we can plan for the changes ahead, at home, at work and across the capital.

The Our Changing City experience weaves together past, present, and future perspectives to explore how Pōneke is changing in response to climate disruptions like floods, landslides, and sea level rise. It brings together scientific data and Mātauranga Māori, offering a holistic view of the challenges and opportunities ahead.

It's changing the way Wellingtonians understand climate impacts and enabling us to work together to adapt and build resilience. Explore solutions like flood protection, landslide prevention and reimagining our coastline at iconic Wellington venues around the city - see our "Key Dates" section for more information.

Focusing on Motukairangi | Eastern Ward as a pilot, this interactive tool demonstrates how different knowledge systems can guide adaptation planning. While the way this information is presented is new, the underlying risk data is already available through the District Plan and online mapping tools.
